About sedum

Sedum is an Alpine plant hence the ability to withstand rapid temperature fluctuations, drought, poor soil with little no organic matter, full sun, snow cover, high wind you name it, it simply can handle the most extreme weather unlike any other plant. The foliage functions as a water-storing reservoir which it utilizes only at night when the temperatures are lower (smart isn’t it?) By combining creepers and ground covering plants you can alternate between growing and blooming. 6-8 varieties are mixed in each planting which allows for each plant to adjust to the particulars of the roof (shade from a chimney, drier or wetter spots, windy corners etc.) needless to say the blanket roof will seem to modify itself over time. To add diversity, you can also have grass and herbs growing in the vegetation blankets.
