Vegetation blankets

For the laying a green roof you can choose vegetations blankets. User-friendly and quick to install. Roll it out and you’re done! Sounds unbelievable? This is really all it takes! Sempergreen® vegetation blankets are easy to put into place and the colourful green impact is instant. Nearly all types of roofs are suitable because of the minimal load required to succeed with the Sempergreen® blankets system. Roof tiles? An alternative to the use of vegetation mats is the use of plugs, sedum cuttings or seed. Sempergreen® no longer supplies cuttings and seed because they simply dry out, are blown away or picked up by birds. It also takes about four to five years to achieve the same green result as vegetation mats.
We do supply plugs, for which we have set up a special production location. In some cases, plugs are less expensive than vegetation mats, but often they are not.  Roofs with plugs require a thicker substrate and as such a stronger and more expensive construction. Also, the installation of a plug roof requires more labour and plug projects themselves require a lot more maintenance. A plug roof takes approximately three years to yield the same result as vegetation mats, and in the meantime bi-monthly visits need to take place to keep the roof weed free, instead of bi-annual visits with a Sempergreen® Vegetative mat roof system.
