Green walls
Reducing the urban heat island effect, increased biodiversity, better insulation properties of buildings: these are terms that pop up everywhere nowadays, usually in combination with living walls.
Vertical gardens (living walls)
Just like green roofs, vertical gardens (or living walls) are perfect for introducing more greenery into urban areas. Not much space is required to turn a few square metres into gardens. Sempergreen® Vertical Systems has more than fourteen years’ experience in vertical gardens and can therefore, without any hesitation, be called an experienced player.
Good for people, animals and the environment
Living walls or vertical gardens or green walls, as they are called, have many positive consequences. In his doctoral research, Marc Ottelé shows that temperatures in inner cities with green areas can easily be a few degrees cooler in summer. So green walls help to reduce the urban heat island effect. Moreover, they create more biodiversity as the plants absorb air pollutants, especially the ultrafine particles that in the normal course of events are inhaled deeply into the bronchi. And our extensive list of advantages of vertical gardens shows they have even more positive effects.
Pre-cultivated systems for green walls
As an experienced player in the market for living walls Sempergreen® has countless projects to its name. Operating under the name Sempergreen® Vertical Systems, the company offers two pre-cultivated, modular products for green walls; Flexipanels for every conceivable indoor and outdoor wall (including curved surfaces!) and Framepanels, specially designed for noise barriers and fences. In our nursery, we plant our pre-cultivated panels with a variety of plants to suit the situation of your wall and your climate.
