The new four-level parking garage of Glostrup Hospital in Denmark, designed by Christensen & Co. Architects, is much more than a place to park. With its distinctive green façade and strong sustainable profile, the building has become a striking landmark on the hospital campus — a welcoming prelude to the hospital’s focus on health, care and well-being.

Green all around

In 2015, a SemperGreenwall Outdoor was installed around the entire garage, transforming what could have been a purely functional structure into a living, breathing piece of architecture. The façade, made up of pre-grown Flexipanels, features a carefully selected mix of flowering plants chosen for their ability to thrive in both sunny and shaded conditions. Throughout the seasons, the wall changes colour and texture, creating a dynamic and ever-evolving appearance.

Sustainability that shows

The green façade doesn’t just look beautiful — it also contributes actively to a healthier urban environment. The plants help purify the air, reduce noise, and regulate temperature, while providing a touch of nature that softens the surrounding built environment.
