Glasshouse Sempergreen moves to a bigger location

At the beginning of April, Sempergreen moved to a bigger glasshouse in Harmelen, the Netherlands. The living green walls are pre-cultivated at this new location. With this, Sempergreen is prepared for the future and will be able to meet the growing demand for vertical greenery in Europe. Due to the abundance of space in the new glasshouse and the presence of the most modern techniques in the field of climate control, both the quality of the SemperGreenwalls and their production have increased considerably.

Climate control results in vital and healthy planting

Already in the short time that the new glasshouse was put into operation, it has become apparent that the new environment has a positive effect on the planting of the green walls. The balanced coordination of irrigation, light, air and nutrition results in a favourable growth climate for the planting of the SemperGreenwalls. This optimal use of the artificial ecosystem in the glasshouse leads to more efficient growth. This, in turn, allows Sempergreen to respond even better to the increasing demand for vertical green walls.

Continuous improvement of the cultivation process

A SemperGreenwall is a modular facade system that is constructed from Flexipanels. These panels are 62 x 52 cm and in the glasshouse they are provided with indoor or outdoor planting. The Flexipanels are then placed on vertical scaffolding and coupled to the irrigation system to supply water and nutrients, which promote plant growth. Thanks to its broad plant knowledge, Sempergreen selects only the strongest plant species for the SemperGreenwalls. In combination with years of growing experience, Sempergreen supplies and installs pre-grown plant walls that always provide a direct-green appearance upon delivery. Within the product development & innovation department, continuous research is carried out into the improvement and innovation of the cultivation process.
