Joint venture announcement | Sempergreen Colombia

Sempergreen and Metroverde are pleased to announce their agreement to establish a joint venture named Sempergreen Colombia, focusing on the green infrastructure industry throughout Colombia and Latin America. The partners strongly feel that joining forces will generate an important added value and a knowledge sharing platform to create a better local product that will become a tempting and unique solution for every player in the market. 

Official agreement

On March 30, the agreement for the new partnership between Sempergreen and Metroverde was formalized. From that moment, Metroverde has become a partner and uses the brand of the Dutch headquartered company. Sempergreen is worldwide market leader in green products for the green infrastructure industry. This new partnership has arisen thanks to the regional growth of the green infrastructure in the past 8 years and the leadership in installation of green roofs through Sedum blankets and other plants. This wide experience is unique in Latin America. Through this alliance it seeks to enhance what has already been achieved, to bring better products throughout the country.

Solutions for urban problems

Sempergreen and local partners believe in the power of green infrastructure to solve urban problems. Green roofs have the capacity to retain up from 50% of rainwater, eliminating unnecessary transport of the water through the sewer of the city. Moreover, vegetation helps us clean the air and contributes to environmental and health problems associated with pollution of vehicles and industry. In this way, the deficit of square meters of green per inhabitant that Colombian cities have according to the World Health Organization is being offset.
