In alignment with the famous and monumental 19th-century Arcade (Passage in Dutch) an ultra-modern indoor shopping has been realized, featuring a green wall system of Sempergreen. Architect Bernard Tschumi applied a very light and open design to this spectacular new section of the Arcade.

Flexible wall system

The new indoor shopping street has been given a number of striking features, of which the green facade directly catches the eye. This custom-made vertical garden around ellipse-shaped windows is a remarkable demonstration of the flexibility of the Sempergreen Flexipanel system. The green wall covers an area of over 200 m2.

First project in The Hague with BREEAM-NL certificate

The starting point for the development and realization of the New Hague’s Passage was the international BREEAM standard. To ensure the sustainability objectives of this plan were achieved, the commitment was expressed to achieve a BREEAM-NL Good certificate for this project. This has now resulted in a draft certificate BREEAM-NL Good. The New Hague Passage is thus the first completed project in The Hague this sustainability label.
