Golazo Combines Sports, Sustainability and Green Design

Belgian sports marketing company Golazo recently unveiled a new, sustainable equipment warehouse in Beringen-Paal. The building, designed by CLVR Architects, features an impressive green facade and roof ensemble.

Cleaner air

1 m² of living wall filters fine dust, absorbs 2.3 kg CO₂ and produces 1.7 kg oxygen per year.

Cradle to Cradle certified

SemperGreenwall systems meet the highest standards for quality and sustainability, holding a Bronze-level Cradle to Cradle certification.

Extends facade life span

A living wall shields your facade from sun, rain, wind and temperature changes, extending its lifespan.

Golazo is a Belgian sports marketing company known for its innovative and sustainable approach to sports events. Near their headquarters in Beringen-Paal (Belgium), a new warehouse for their event equipment was built in 2022. What immediately catches the eye is the combination of the green facade and green roof. This gives the building an impressive ensemble of greenery covering the outside of the building. A beautiful realisation to the design of CLVR Architects in collaboration with main contractor Willy Naessens.

Creative with green

Golazo’s green wall in Beringen is a great example of the creative use of living plants to beautify urban spaces. In the wall, Sign & Display applied the logo in white letters. One of the many things possible with greenery. See more examples of green facades with logos here.

The benefits of green on business parks

Green applications are more than just an attractive addition to the building. They also offer a range of environmental benefits, such as improving air quality and reducing rainfall. They also help reduce the heat island effect, a phenomenon whereby cities are warmer than their surrounding areas due to the absorption of heat by concrete and other materials. Especially on business parks, where usually little greenery is applied, there is still much to be gained. Read more in our blog ‘Green business parks – away with the grey stone deserts‘.

It is possible to create a vibrant and healthy ecosystem that benefits both people and the planet

Sustainability

The living walls and Sedum roof at Golazo are a testament to the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. They serve as proof that even in an urban environment, it is possible to create a vibrant and healthy ecosystem that benefits both people and the planet.

In addition to the living walls, Golazo has implemented a range of other sustainable solutions, including solar panels, rainwater harvesting and electric vehicle charging points. These initiatives demonstrate the company’s commitment to reducing its impact on the environment and creating a more sustainable future.
