Green Entrance Symbolizes Surrey’s Environmental Care

In Surrey, the second largest city in British Columbia, a new, modern town hall was built in 2014. This project, designed by Moriyama & Teshima Architects, received the American sustainability certificate LEED Gold.

Cleaner air

1 m² of living wall filters fine dust, absorbs 2.3 kg CO₂ and produces 1.7 kg oxygen per year.

Cradle to Cradle certified

SemperGreenwall systems meet the highest standards for quality and sustainability, holding a Bronze-level Cradle to Cradle certification.

Extends facade life span

A living wall shields your facade from sun, rain, wind and temperature changes, extending its lifespan.

Sustainable Urban Management

The green facade at the entrance of the building is a physical representation of the care for the environment and sustainable responsibility that het municipality of Surrey pursues. The combination of ferns and grasses in the plant scheme gives the green facade a special appearance.
