In 2010, a green roof was applied on top of the Forest Heights Municipal Building in Forest Heights, Maryland. The green roof of the town hall has a surface of 2,600 sq.ft. and is made with Sempergreen USA Sedumix blankets.
The Green Government
The municipality of Forest Heights, located near Washington D.C. has taken the initiative 'to Go Green'. They were the first local government in the Prince George's County who went greening all buildings owned by the municipality and made a green standard. Placing this green roof on top of the town hall marked the start of this initiative.
