As part of the restoration of the Monastery of Sant Llorenç de Sous, in the Catalan region of the Alt Empordà and funded by the Provincial Government of Girona, a very unusual, but very effective landscaping solution was chosen.
21st century gardening solution
Surrounded by the three arches of the cloister, the central courtyard is covered with Sempergreen vegetation blankets. A 21st century gardening solution for a 9th century building. The result could not have been more impressive: instant visual impact, easy installation, rapid adaptation and minimal maintenance.
Interesting to note is that Sedum was always present here. It is easy to find on the edge of the road, clinging to the rocks, or between the stones of the ancient ruins. The innovative Sedum-mix blankets fit in naturally on this historic place.
