2023 Trend: Plant Forward
The top 10 trends for hoteliers are highlighted at this inspiring fair. Of course, planting and greenery with a view to future-proof hotels deserves to have a place on this list. And it has! You will find this theme in trend #3: Plant Forward. Research has shown that a green environment contributes to better relaxation. In addition, studies in environmental psychology show that people give preference to natural environments over non-natural/built environments1. When selecting a hotel, people will therefore be more likely to (unconsciously) choose a hotel with a natural appearance. Last but certainly not least, greening has another important advantage: the investment pays for itself.

A wonderful example of how you can create a green hotel by applying a SemperGreenwall Outdoor is Hotel & Wellness Zuiver in Amsterdam (The Netherlands). In an interview with architecture platform and magazine ArchitentenPunt, Rolf van den Heuvel, marketing manager of the hotel, is delighted about the addition of the living walls: ‘Thanks to the green facades on the two buildings, our resort makes an even clearer connection with its green environment. (…) we are extremely happy with the result, just like our guests. Every day, just before their departure, I see hotel guests taking a quick picture of this hotel location.’
